Craniosacral Therapy
The CranioSacral System is the most important function of the human body. It comprises the cranium, sacrum, spine and the Cerebro-spinal fluid (CSF). This fluid is the driving force of the body. Without this fluid’s mechanics, life would not be possible. The CSF is responsible for maintaining the functions of the body and expresses itself through every cell.
What is Craniosacral Therapy?
The CranioSacral System is intimately related to, influences, and is influenced by:
-
The Nervous System
-
The Musculoskeletal System
-
The Vascular System
-
The Lymphatic System
-
The Endocrine System
-
The Respiratory System
Abnormalities in the structure or function of any of these systems may influence the CranioSacral System. Restrictions in the structure of the CS system will necessarily have profound, and frequently deleterious effects upon the development or function of the nervous system, especially the brain.
What Can I Expect During a CST Session?
A trained CST practitioner can place their hands on any part of the client’s body to first perceive and then influence the flow of the CSF by releasing adhesions that restrict the proper flow of fluid. When these restrictions/adhesions are removed this improved flow allows the body to self correct thereby improving overall health. The CST therapist helps the restore and renew in compromised areas allowing for healing to take place of sensory, motor, musculoskeletal, neurological disorders, symptoms, conditions and alleviation of pain.
